“Children, let’s go swimming!”
A facilitator announced at the chime of the golden bell, signifying that time was up.
The group of pre-schoolers started peeling themselves away from the Compassion Compass, dived into the sea of white plastic balls and “swam” their way to the slides to complete their mission.
This flurry of activity took place at the Singapore Kindness Movement’s booth at this year’s Early Childhood Conference by the Early Childhood Development Agency. The annual event was held at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre on 6th and 7th October 2017. Close to 9,000 early childhood professionals, parents and children were treated to a feast of insightful fun.
Named the ‘Kindsville Ball-topia’, children had to work together as a team to fill up the Compassion Compass with yellow balls within the time limit. Fashioned after Kindsville, where Singa and the Kindness Cubbies live, the Compassion Compass served as a giant indicator of the level of kindness in town.
We are heartened that the children couldn’t get enough of our booth, with some mentioning that they like “the ball pool” most.
A big THANK YOU goes out to all who made this possible–ECDA, facilitators who helped out, educators, parents and children for the support! See you next year! (:
